Richmond Arms sat in the heart of pretty Tomintoul, Highland’s highest village on the slopes of stunning Cairngorms is running a couple’s very special offer.

The Perfect Location
The Richmond Arms Hotel sits on the southern side of the tree-lined Square in the tranquil village of Tomintoul.

Tomintoul is nestled within Cairngorm National Park famous for its scenery, wildlife, fishing, bird-watching, climbing, walking and biking trails. The area is also renowned for its lochs, castles and distilleries as well the Lecht close by for snow-sports and ice climbing in the winter.
Downhill Mountain Bike trails have just been opened on the outskirts of the village while inside it there are all the local ammenities needed such as shops, a post office and a Doctors surgery that will even do same day appointments.
We are perfectly positioned for those on an odyssey of both the Highland and Grampian regions and the area is also renowned for its whisky production and fabulous whisky trails. Just north of Tomintoul is Glenlivet, the best known distillery in the area. Glenlivet is part of the "Malt Whisky Trail" and tour. ​

Our Rooms
The Richmond Arms was built in 1858 as a grand fishing and hunting lodge, spacious and light with many of its splendid original features in place, including ornate cornicing, ceiling rose, traditional staircase and original tiled flooring. The best feature of the Hotel though is the magnificent views out of its windows, over the village and to the mountains beyond, a wonderful sight to wake up to no matter what the weather is like.

There are 25 stylish bedrooms, 23 with private/en-suite facilities as there are two rooms set aside, which share a fully disabled-compliant bathroom on the ground floor.
Our bedrooms are attractively designed for peace and comfort. We have different room types to accommodate varying guest numbers and we welcome individuals, couples, friends, family, corporate and special interest groups alike.
Longer Term Stays
Richmond Arms suites are available to rent for one to six months. With easy access to nearby towns and cities, your own serviced accommodation and brilliant hotel amenities, it's perfect for corporate managers and staff. We find a one-month package works well for people making several working visits throughout the month. It's also great for singles, couples and families looking for a lovely rental in between homes or whilst making a longer visit to the area.

We are highly popular for our restaurant and bar to residents and non-residents alike.

Our menus are varied and based around seasonal, fresh local produce. The Highlands is a fertile farming region due to its black soils and we work with local producers to source our food and our drink.

The hotel boasts a collection of over 250 single malt whiskies and also stocks a large selection of Scottish Craft Beers, alongside an extensive wine selection.

All of which can also be enjoyed in our warm, inviting bar where you can pair your drink with a fresh stone baked artisan Barrel & Stone pizza.
